It's been a week now since I had the big jaw surgery. After all that planning and worrying and preparing, it's finally over. But it's also the beginning-- of recovery, relearning, and a new face shape.
(
I got up really early last Wednesday morning and we went to the hospital... )

In any event, glad that you made it through and are en route to recovery and mandibular goodness. And hey, there are worse places to recuperate than Santa Barbara!

And for a story swap... I had my wisdom teeth, my last baby tooth and an impacted eye tooth taken out in surgery under an anesthetic. I had been given something prior to surgery to reduce nausea frequently caused by the anesthetic. I was in the last of many recovery rooms prior to going home. A nurse was giving me something in my IV and I said "My throat feels tight." The nurse tensed and stopped the injection, but immediately relaxed when I expelled the mix of blood and stuff that I swallowed during surgery. Somehow, I didn't get much on myself. The floor on the other hand was a mess. I was a bit freaked out too, I was 16 after all.
