Week gone by...

It's been a week now since I had the big jaw surgery. After all that planning and worrying and preparing, it's finally over. But it's also the beginning-- of recovery, relearning, and a new face shape.

I know what it's like to have major surgery so I feel your pain. I'm glad that you've been able to have family and friends around you to help out. I'm not a religious person so I won't say a prayer for you but I'll keep you in my thoughts and I hope you have a speedy recovery!!

My family has been there for me, going above and beyond to help me out. What surgery did you have, if it's okay for me to ask?

I went in with stomach pains, which after a CT scan, the doctor thought was my appendix, so I went under for an appendectomy. It wasn't until I came out of surgery that I found out that the doctor realized when he went in that it wasn't my appendix after all and there was a tear in my small intestines. This was around 2007.
My parents ended up flying out from Alabama as I was getting out of the hospital to help take care of me for a couple of weeks.
