Do people have the same difficulty correctly using UR and U R as they do you're and your?

I wouldn't know, I've never used "you're" or "your".

Whether to the same degree or not I don't know, but it certainly does happen. However, there's a lot more room for interpretation with the acronyms.

U R - you are.
