I think I'm just going to post about something random. I'm not going to catch you guys up on my life; I figure if I keep writing, the details will come. This morning I was driving home from the West Loop (where my gf works), and I decided to put in a CD I haven't listened to in more than two years: Muse's "Absolution." Never really understood the fanaticism for either of those bands. I listened to everything both bands put out, but it really wasn't my kinda stuff. The best album I've ever heard is... probably Loveless by My Bloody Valentine. Maybe something else, but that's my most listened to album at least.

I've actually never listened to My Bloody Valentine. I think the name sounded too emo to me. I've been told many times that they're not emo, but I've never gotten around to listening to them.

They're shoegaze, but that's generally not a genre that people have heard of. An unknown style is almost as bad as a style that's publicly decried, as far as trying new music is concerned.

That actually makes me want to listen to them more so I can know what shoegaze means. Then again, last time I thought that, I wanted to know what grindcore was, so that didn't turn out too well

I like Muse for its cathartic energy. You should pick up their live HAARP album if you get a chance. It really captures the dynamism of their shows.

I've been to a Muse show and unfortunately it wasn't much, although I do hear that their energy is completely different stateside as compared to England.

I've actually always been worried that if I went to a Muse show I would be really disappointed or self-conscious during the whole thing (which tends to happen when I go to shows). Where was the show, anyway?
