Main:It annoys me how consumerist American society is. I had to go to the store to buy a couple new pairs of jeans to replace the pairs that are now unwearable and it struck me as to how much it really pissed me off

I had this pair of jeans for three years that I loved everything about. After a ripped a hole in a location that pretty much made them illegal in public, I made it my mission to replace them. Turns out, my super comfortable jeans were nowhere to be found because they were no longer fashionable or some bull shit like that. Jeans are jeans for one thing- and another- who gives a fuck? I loved them. Try the Salvarm?
It's taken care of. As long as they're comfortable, I'm not too picky about much else regarding my jeans.
I'd like to find straight-leg carpenters, but I've become increasingly convinced that I must have fabricated the pair I used to own in my fevered imagination.
You're still buying a style that was fabricated. Not only that, but consciously going against whatever the "current" style ("current" is in quotes because vintage is now "trendy", so old is the new new) is still allowing your style to be dictated by the same fashion designers deciding what's "in" this season.
Meh, you could just do what I do to avoid all of this and just not buy anything. I haven't bought any new clothing for seriously two years. But I guess if your jeans were shot what can you do.
I was actualy just thinking about such today while looking for a prom dress. I think I'm just going to wear a sheet. Or go naked and get kicked out and not have to deal with any of it.

Yeah, I'd been a few years without buying any, but my job apparently destroys my clothes.
