I don't understand that... are you sure they're herpes? Because I've gotten cold sores since I was a really little kid and I'm pretty sure I don't have herpes.

Yes I'm positive. It's herpes simplex 1...which is almost always oral herpes, though it can be transfered genitally. Genital herpes is almsot always herpes simplex 2.

There's also herpes zoster, which is shingles (I think) - so there's different sorts. 80% of the population (or something like that) get cold sores.
I started to get them last year. They suck so much. Just be careful.
