I totally get the same vibe. The city fell apart and everyone died or is stranded, starving and hopeless. Now they get to sit and wait at the bottom of someone's less-than-systematic to-do list as everything falls apart more. The real atrocity is turning out to be the shocking disregard for the (black?) people down there more than it is the actual hurricane.

That's what I've been fucking saying for days now. And I would love to know how the director of FEMA went on CNN yesterday and said, "Oh, we just found out a couple of hours ago that there were any people in the convention center." How the fuck is that even possible? I knew for a couple of days. CNN knew. I knew. But FEMA didn't know. My dad is a political scientist and an asshole republican and we've been having a huge fight over this. He tells me I'm being hysterical, but I think if I'm going to be hysterical over anything, this is a good thing to be hysterical over. Anyway, well said. Let's make babies.
