The Messer and Montana residence, Friday night after work

May 27, 2006 01:35

Danny grinned to himself, unlocking the door. Been a long night at work, finishing up all that paperwork Montana had him doing and then there was the personnel reports he's was pretty sure he'd never get done. In fact, he'd brought them home, hoping that maybe at some point he'd have a chance to work on them after he celebrated the weekend with ( Read more... )

Lindsay was on the patio with a glass of wine, sliding door open so she could hear the music (although it wasn't really that loud, it just seemed to be to her). There were two empty bottles and a half-full one sitting on the table next to her chair, but she was leaning over the railing and laughing about something the person on the phone was saying. Rex had a wary eye on her from his position by the door, and it was obvious that even the dog could tell she was more than a little tipsy.

"Oh, hey. I think Danny's home," she said, possibly a little louder than necessary. "Want me to have him call you? Okay, Donny, I'll tell him. See you soon," Lindsay giggled as she hung up the phone.

Turning, she leaned in the door. "Out here, baby," she called, a happy smile on her face.

Danny broke into a grin, ducking into the kitchen and grabbing a beer as he made his way outside. "Out here, huh?" He teased and turned down the music. He'd heard her giggling when he'd walked in. She was alone, so he assumed it was the phone... unless it was just a side effect of the empty bottles of wine on the table.

Squatting down, he ruffled Rex's fur before standing and kissing Lindsay hard on the mouth. "You go and start the party without me, Montana?" He laughed against her lips, seeing the telltale signs of drunkenness on her face.

Laughing at the look and whimper Rex gave Danny -- something along the lines of "Mama's drunk and insane, please help me" -- she nodded before kissing him back. "Out here. And Rose came by earlier, we had a few drinks. Although, I think I kept going after she left," Lindsay said, her wineglass dangling precariously from her fingertips as she gestured with it.

"How was work? My day was very busy, and I never want to see the inside of my office again. I think I'm going to make Shannon do all my paperwork and just work out in the field from now on, because I'm tired of singing my name, and really just hating this director gig, but other than that it was a good day and I got to bust some bad guys, and yay me!" Yes. She was rambling, and her hand may have drifted down to Danny's belt buckle without her realizing it, but it's not like he minds, right? "Oh! Before I forget, Donny wants you to call him, and do you think he minds I called him that because if he does I can call him back and apologize..."

"More'n a few, from the looks of it," he smirked, dodging the glass before taking it from Lindsay's fingers and setting it down on the table. "How's Rose handling things?" He couldn't help it, he wondered who Lindsay'd gotten drunk with after he'd cheated on her, if she had.

"I can only answer one question at a time, Monroe. I haven't even opened my beer yet." Danny murmured, laughing as he curled his fingers around hers on his belt buckle. He held them still long enough to get himself settled in one of the chairs with Montana on his lap. Hell no, he didn't mind, she could have at it. "It's a weekend, my day was insane, I've decided that you and I need to run away somewhere and get jobs where all we have to do is relax." He kissed his way down her neck until he heard Don's name, pulling back. "God, baby, you're so drunk. You talked to Don? You called him Donny?" Teach him not to charge his cell before work. "What'd he say? Would've loved to see his face.. I'll call him back after you're done with me."
