[Joshua is sitting on the step of his cabin, going back and forth between idly watching the sky and eyeing the screen of his cell phone.]

You know, sometimes I do wonder what, if anything, he's actually hoping to accomplish here. [Yawns] Any bets on this one? It does bring to mind a number of astronomical questions, but our host has never struck ( Read more... )

[[OOC Note: The HOW of time travel is never canonically explained in the Terminator universe, so I basically have to bullshit all of this. :D As a result, please overlook any scientific oversights on my part! Terminator has shown evidence that suggests the method of time travel used in the continuity is the 'parallel universe' type, which was what prompted Ark to interpret the Reaper's comment of 'transverse time' as a reference to time travel across the multiverse. *whew*]]The materials available for construction of a Sphere do not currently exist in Sheol - that is to say, the majority of them are unavailable. The inability to generate a significant amount of power is the most crucial hindrance. Even my fuel cells could not generate what is necessary. When I come from we have constructed the Sphere generator at massive drain to our own resources ( ... )

[[OOC: Haha, okay! Nothing wrong with a little bullshitting. :D]]

Recording it? [Smiles and shakes his head, pressing a key on his phone before snapping it shut and returning it to his pocket.] Nah -- just seeing what time my phone claimed it was. Shouldn't even be doing that, really; the battery apparently recharged itself during my, ah... apparent absence from Sheol, and I'd really rather conserve it for as long as possible.

Anyway -- a Sphere, hm? [Soft laugh] Just curious; I didn't expect that you'd have what you needed to construct one here, of course. Although, power-wise, I wonder if any of the magical sorts could manage something, next time the Reaper sees fit to give them their strength back.

Axel was unable to open a gateway through the Darkness using his conventional methods. Although all the methods to exit this dimension that have been tried seem to be magical in nature, rather than mechanical, the Reaper has shown an ability to exert control over physical, mundane materials as well, such as my endoskeleton and power source.

If one of the other residents could provide the power necessary - it is still unlikely that the device would function as intended. It is more likely that whomever occupied the Sphere would be disintegrated.

Mm. In which case, they'd come back sooner or later.

[He frowns thoughtfully, and goes back to watching the sky for a moment.]

...Still, I don't know how many people are left here who actually want to leave, so perhaps it's beside the point.

My condolences. I thought I'd better check; people have been known to fade away, on occasion. Getting settled in all right?

Yes, of course.

... You said you wished to speak with me about a couple things, Sir?

Oh, yes. I did say that, didn't I?

[He gets to his feet and starts to stroll away from the cabin before going on.]

First off -- what's your impression of this place, thus far?

Honestly? I reckon our dear host's running a vendetta against all the ingredients of a good night out. He took the booze away, took the fags away, took the out away, and now he's taking the night away, as well.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be running a scientific fucking inquiry into how well a blanket over the head can simulate nighttime.

[Laughs] I'll admit that's a theory I hadn't considered. Well done.

[Peers at the crow's eye for a moment] ...Ah, and I don't think we've been introduced; you must have turned up while I was away. My name's Yoshiya, but call me Joshua if you like. And you are?

John Constantine.

Old hand before the mast, I take it?

Something like that. I was here about a year, give or take, and then our gracious host apparently decided to give me a few months off. [Drily] But, you know, I just couldn't bear to stay away too long.

[Pauses, and eyes Constantine critically for a moment]

Anyway -- so you're the one Mr. Dresden's so fond of, are you? Pleasure to meet you, sir.
