First. FIRST.

Is it just me or...

Somehow, I feel like zero people noticed this. Were we all too busy being shocked and surprised that one of the brothers is keeping a secret from the other one, or what? Maybe we were wondering if Benny had already broken

Nope, you got your vampires mixed up on this one. re watch "Dead Man's Blood". As John says, stakes do nothing to them and being in the sun will only feel like a "nasty sunburn". Hence, I guess, glasses and heavy coat to protect himself from getting one...

Hmm. Yeah, I was trying to remember exactly what happened in that episode. Although, I do recall them running through the daylight, trying to escape it. One really nasty sunburn I guess. Although Benny did seem totally unfazed.

I was also trying to remember if there was something about this during season 7, with regard to the Daddy vamp. I know there was talk at some point of monsters behaving in ways they normally wouldn't....

yeah but in Bloodlust didn't some of the action with vampires also happen in the day ? like, when they let Lenore go and stuff, it's daylight, and she's not really shying away from it is she ?

What's that stuff tho about monsters not behaving like they should ? i don't remember that part (i did block out most episodes i've watched since season 6...)

I want to hug this post. *hugs post*
I hope the show addresses half the things you want to see addressed and a few of the ones I want to see. Because it could be very interesting.

Thanks! And yes, I'm just dying to see show get a little more daring with their views on good and evil.

So much potential...

I am with you that we are supposed to be going WTF about Sam's behavior...that feels rather deja vu, but hey, better that than Sam has just turned into a douchebag...

Re: hitting the dog and overreacting--I am sure that scene was supposed to show just how far gone Sam had become, driving around aimlessly, he hits dog and freaks that he might have killed one more innocent--sort of a 'last straw' thing.

My conspiracy-thinking mind wonders if Amelia is working for Crowley and she put something in Sam's food to make him docile, get him off the board for Crowley and keep tabs in case Kevin contacts Sam...

And re: Dean's 'Purgatory is pure' comment--I interpreted it as finally Dean had clarity of mission--stay alive, kill everything else, there were no shades of gray. Except, of course, for Benny...

There's been gobs more Dean-love during this episode than Sam-love, so I'm gonna try to level the playing field a little.

Character-wise, Dean is easy. He's always been clearly cut and therefore, easier for the writers to get their brains wrapped around. He's a purpose-driven smart alec who has always felt that without a job, a goal, he'd be nothing. And that hasn't changed; if anything, it's gotten sharper. So yeah, I suspect that's what he meant about Purgatory's purity: life there is pared down to the very basics of survival, and that agrees with Dean immensely. The job is making it to the next day. There’s no room for insecurity or depression or “I gotta be your protector, Sammy.” It appears as though eating, sleeping, money and grooming are not issues in Purgatory either. I’m not saying it was FUN for him, mind you! It certainly wasn’t; he made it clear in no uncertain terms that it was a war zone. And of course it’s delightful to see him be the consummate bad-ass! It’s, frankly, easy. It’s the part of the sandwich that is ( ... )
