Now that grandma is in her new apartment, the last thing to do at the condo was to clean it up to prep it for the new owners. Sweeping was the main thing mom mentioned. I got up to the new place a little after four on Tuesday. My mom, uncle, and aunt were walking grandma out of the dining room, and my uncle immediately noticed me when I walked in. After all of Tuesday's excitement--I haven't even gotten to the unpacking part, either--I was glad to have Wednesday off. Yesterday was the first time I'd been to grandma's new place. Mom had only been there one time before, on the initial visit where they got to pick out which apartment she would have. We lost our oldest-lived president yesterday. Jimmy Carter made it to 100 years old; that's impressive no matter who you are. Heck, he beat Betty White, who taught us not to make a big deal about turning that age when she conveniently died just short of the mark. We have a number of wooden items at my job, and when it's winter, my boss likes to run humidifiers to protect the wood. We do notice a difference when it's dry. This year, he upgraded one of the humidifiers to a tall, tower-style one with two reservoirs, one on either side; they each hold two gallons of water.
