Am I delusioned (which dictionaries everywhere are telling me is not a word, but I don't want delusional and I don't want deluded, so screw you English language. You're shot to hell anyway.) to think that I could possibly continue on course to pharmacy and still be a writer on the side ( Read more... )

How can you not be looking for "deluded," there? Maybe "disillusioned?" "Dislusioned" actually sounds like a nice in-between.

I, for one, believe that art and science aren't exclusive at all. When it gets right down to it, you need the same state of mind to solve a physics problem and write poetry, so fuck that. Feynman was a brilliant writer, and da Vinci and other artists used math to make art.

Besides, you can't lose your soul. You can only deny yourself access to it.

dislusioned? it's too conflicted, and it's not a word either really. and "disillusioned" was a no because it reminds me too much of depressed writers like Hemingway and deluded sounds like a clown or a chemistry term.

thus delusioned is it.

and it's more of a time issue i suppose.

If you're spending so much time on chemistry and math schoolwork that you don't have time to write, you probably shouldn't be a chemist be in school.
