This game where we're supposed to decide what we do with our lives before we've even had a chance to be interesting, it's really dumb. Why are you playing?

I think no matter what you pick, it's the wrong choice, because you don't have any real basis for decision-making.

Actually, here's what I think.

Figure out what you really want to do, whether it be chemistry, art, journalism, or whatever, and then just do it, and fuck the known methods of getting a career. The career isn't as important as doing it, and doing it the way that you're sure is right. You don't need to be taught how to do something a particular way to do it well, because the taught way is almost never the only way.

As for money, figure that out as it comes. If nothing else you'll live a more interesting life than you would otherwise.
