014. If you ever got married, what song would you want played? I always claimed it would be 'Thru the Eyes of Ruby' by the wonderful (certainly in that instance!) Pumpkins but I would have to confess that that may not really be true. ;) Still, maybe that could be a good test if I ever wanted a prospective spouse. ha ha. Other than that, I think Ornette Coleman would be fun.

Oh my god... I had forgotten about that! But you have NO IDEA how many times I listened to that song on repeat. For a while I think it even made me cry. :)

032. Do you have any food allergies or aversions? raw onion. oh yes. cooked onion I'm coming to terms with!

You??? Coming to terms with onion?????? The world is coming to an end!!!!! :) I think you are part of the reason I don't like onion. Hm.

I miss you Bebby!!

Ohhhh! Well, I thought of you, when I said that. It is indeed a rather beautiful song, is it not? awwww! Weren't those the days..... :) myself I still sigh with much happy/wistful nostalgia upon hearing Trailer Trash! (which is also a beautiful song in its own right!)

And onion, hehehe, I know, it's true!!! I still certainly don't like it yet. In fact, it's pretty nasty stuff. ;) Maybe I'm just adopting a slightly less petulant attitude towards the fact that so many people do such a crazy thing. Never raw though! Never!!!! heehee :D that's great! I am proud, to be part of such a worthwhile outcome.

I miss you too!! dammit! :) One day I'm totally coming to see you again. If you wouldn't mind. ;) totally!!

Oh it was an interesting one! Let's see.....

I said about how there weren't any female equivalent terms of "mate" or "guy" as in, "this guy who sits next to me...." - like there's no informal, equal word to match it. Catherine suggested that we just use "person", the advantage being, um, obviously, that it is gender-neutral, but I said that would be great, only people would think you were a little bit funny if you tried using that in an informal setting. So she said, well, make them not think you're funny by doing it enough, and that that would be a breakthrough for collapsing gender divisions.

I said, however, that as long as people are so obviously divided into genders - in hair/clothes, in the expectations we have of them, whatever - using "person" would be an empty gesture, and you would not succeed in normalising such a term, until people are no longer significantly split by gender. Of course, gendered language is one aspect to the split, but I think saying "a man/woman I work with" (say), is rather more manifestive than ( ... )
