I got a new monitor! This is because my last one exploded (really!), when at 4am one week ago today I tripped over getting a drink in the night and poured a little bit of water into it. I'm not too happy, because they're rather expensive, but on the plus side, I can see red and black now as different colours ( Read more... )

Saxaphones are so beautiful! See, however great guitars may be, the timbral range of sustained noises is fairly limited - freaky pedal effects aside - but the punch and impact of a reed instrument, in conjunction with this versatility, is really a super thing. Well yay I picketed today! Everyone was dead friendly and I had some nice chats with people and granted it drizzled and was chilly but it was fab all the same....I held a placard! ;D And um. Yup that's right it's my strike day! You can read about it here if you're interested. It's all about our pension and how we've been paying into it on the basis of retiring at 60 IF you've done a very considerable number of years service for a local authority[1], and the government wants to change the rules so you can't any more.
