So for reasons that are ridiculous, I couldn't sleep. Woke up and was just all wired--and so I checked LJ and found your fic. And it was awesome! I have spent the last hour or so getting lost in it. When it is not stupid o'clock I will gush properly, but ... awesome. Thanks!!! The perfect fic to calm me down, and comfort me, and satisfy me ... and now I'm going to try that sleep thing again :-).

Spent my morning reading the whole thing, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It managed to really pull me in. I think you did a good job with the characters, character voices etc., and with fitting them into a different scenario. They came off as very plausible to me, I could relate them to the people I see on screen (esp. Peter), and I cared for them. The weaving of pieces of dialog and plot points from the show with the au worked nicely, as well, and the twist on Neal's issues was interesting... I like how you used Neal's like-father-like-son concerns from the show. I appreciated the pacing too.

I hope you'll continue to dabble with fic and that you aren't done with this particular fandom yet. Thanks for sharing :)

I'm glad to hear that I got everyone in character. I usually can't stand fics where I end up thinking: he/she would never do that...
I worked hard on the mash-up of dialogue and plot as well. I had to figure out the perfect place to insert everything before actually writing anything.
I'm definitely writing more fics! I'd never written anything before, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is.

This story is riveting, I started reading it during my lunch break ... and it was a good thing I didn't have any deadlines this afternoon. It's heartwarming and heartbreaking, and very much in character.

I love how you've woven all the bits of canon together, making everything work.

You can't even imagine how much time I've spent reading and re-reading your fics. It means a lot to know that you read my fic and liked it!
This is my first attempt at fanfiction and I really enjoyed playing with the characters and making the dialogue, themes, and plot points from canon work in the story.

Oh wow, this was really good. I'd always wanted to read a story where Peter finds Neal while Neal was still in his teens, and this was just perfect. Thanks so much for sharing. :-)

I really liked this fic! It was heartwarming and tragic and desperate and hopeful all at the same time. You've captured Peter's paternal instinct towards Neal perfectly and the use of canon was great! And El? El was just fantastic.

I just love Peter's paternal instinct towards Neal as well (and it's really easy to magnify those feelings when you're writing kidfic).
I worked hard trying to make the pieces of canon work in the story. Also, El is so awesome in canon that I really couldn't write her any other way, she is pretty fantastic!
