My clothing gripe for the day

Went to Dick's sporting goods to try to find a long sleeve tee in one of the nice wicking materials.  Tried on some women's XLs, but couldn't come close to squeezing into them.  They might fit a size 10/12.  Tried on some women's XXLs.  They were about 2 sizes too large.

Tried on one men's XXL and it was way too large and generally fit poorly.

You might take a look at REI's offerings. At least their sizes will match their size chart, so you can tell before you go to the store whether they're likely to have what you need.

I hate the variability of sizing! Right now, I'm in some dead-zone in jeans where one size falls off me while the next one up is so tight I can't sit down!

I totally agree that sizes are not standardized at all. Then there is the subject of trouser lengths!

I really wish that women's sizes were like men's. Inches instead of random numbers. But even men's clothes have gotten weird in the past 10 years or so.

It is frustrating. I want to walk into a store and grab clothing without having to spend hours in a changing room. It is exceedingly annoying.
