I'm currently eating pinapple pieces from a can and now Jesse walked into the room and is narrorating the things I am doing. He is now saying "check out how cool this game is" and proceding to show me a video game on his DS. Now he fucked with it for a minute and said "screw it, I'll show you later". Enough of that ( Read more... )

Dream a lil' dream of me mars_in_furs August 23 2005, 21:22:49 UTC
It takes years of practice, but is a worthy venture to say the least. There are many skeptics that say such a thing is impossible. I say, fuck'em. Once I had a dream that I was actualy in a video game. It was Doom. Yes, it was scary. But I realized I was in that game so I was like, whoah, I'm in Doom, then it immediately turned into one of my most beautiful dreams. Conclusion: Play more video games.

that kind of makes me wonder if video games are around merely because of lucid dreams.

Ask Joe Banjo, a living testament to the impact of a video game lucid dream.

I think you guys may not entirely be understanding the concept of a lucid dream. A lucid dream is where you are dreaming, and within the dream you realize that you're dreaming. You will then have the ability to control the dream with limitless possibilities. I don't like the example of Vanilla Sky because for most of the movie he has no idea he's in an artificial dream and it haunts him. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I remember it (it's been a while since I saw the movie), as soon as he becomes lucid, he just wants it to end, which is kind of silly considering what he could have done with the power of that knowledge. Not that it wasn't a good movie, it just doesn't grasp the real reason for an activity like lucid dreaming, which is to fully expand your mind and remove the limits of reality. I'm simply focusing on the entertainment value, but there are many more theraputic reasons for attempting to induce lucid dreams.

By the way, I had two really vivid dreams last night, neither of which were lucid. It's harder than I

Yes Ihad one the other night where my brother and I were riding a horse dwan carriage through a grave yard/ field, when all of the sudden, 10-15 cannonballs came over the horizon and one hit my broter in the shoulder, mereley a flesh wound but he was very pissed. The whole time I was aware that it was a dream and upset that I had caused my brother the pain, un-intentionally that is.
