Two weeks ago my laptop died.

And as if it wasn't frustrating enough that I lost a ton of shit (ie. music, pictures, half-finished stories & songs, everything else etc), I now have to figure out what kind of laptop to purchase and from where I should get it.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!

macs tend to have fewer problems, i think. and you get more for your monnnnnnnnneyyy. plus, you save 10% and get a free ipod nano if you're a student. i know you're not a student anymore, but if you got one of your student friends to hook you up, you'd be set. you know?

i was a wimp and scared of a non-windows operating system, but own a dell and it's been a smooth machine. my only problems occurred when i clicked stupid links on IMs from friends that gave me trojan viruses. i'll probably get a macbook once my current computer breaks, though.

I've thought about it, but the one big problem is my ipod.

With my computer unexpectedly crashing, I didn't have some of my music backed up. So I'm afraid the music that I want to transfer via my ipod would be lost when I convert my ipod from being pc-compatible to mac-compatible.

that shouldn't be a problem.

when i first got my ipod, i put songs onto it from my pc because my ibook was getting fixed. and then once i got it back, and starting transferring songs onto it from my mac it didn't reformat or anything. so it shouldn't matter, especially since you need to download a program to get songs from your ipod back onto your computer...

i'm happy to hear you've decided to get one after all. i miss computer ryan.
as far as suggestions...yeah I don't really know. but i do fancy my mac as a nice change from the work PC world.
plus it helps with jobs to say you are versatile on both mac and pc platforms. you know, jazzing up the resume.
