I was alerted this afternoon that officials in Britain had foiled a terrorist plot to blow up transatlantic flights from Britain to the United States. only HOURS before I am supposed to get on a transatlantic flight to go back to the United States. Wonderful

With the large nunmber of flights going into and out of any airport on any given day, the odds aren't in favor of you being on a plane that'd be targeted. Not only that, but with the security levels being so much higher because of this, the terrorists are going to put off any airborne attacks for at least a little while.

I'm sorry that the airports are going to be a Zoo when you're trying to fly, but just imagine having ot be on a boat 150 years ago to try to travel from Bulgaria - THAT would be a long trip.... we have it easy now!
