Hello?

Are you getting this?

Who’s this?

Your future self.

Yes, really. Don’t block me.

Okay, prove it. I’m thinking of a password…

You thought “correct horse battery staple” at first, but dismissed it as too obvious. You settled on the eighth Mersenne prime, 2147483647.

I hadn’t even looked it up yet!

An unusual and compelling format with a great story - you can argue with yourself ;)

Of course you can argue with yourself. Who else would know all your secrets?

Thanks :D

I love how quickly the lives diverged, the idea that one thing changes everything so quickly. It's a little scary but also lovely.

Honestly? That's more a function of lack of time, I was going to try and make that more gradual. I like the effect that it ended up with, yeah, but it wasn't the original intent.

Thanks!

I can't put my finger on exactly what I loved about this entry, which contained a lot of things to love. I think, overall, is how the entire tale, entirely in text messages, managed to capture the lonely desperation of older Katrina and the growth of Younger Katrina from skeptical to trusting to lazy to annoyed to resigned.

This is brilliant.

Thank you very much!

Yeah, I really want to expand on Younger Katrina's growth here, because that is the story of this piece.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of restricted writing - text messages, yarn spinning, irc logs, screenplays - partly because I'm so bad at normal blocking and positioning! :p But I think forcing yourself to work in limited formats makes you focus on what is core to the character's journey.
