Have you tried "Look, I don't make you listen to my music, can we not listen to yours?"

If she says "well, we can listen to your music once a week", I recommend borrowing some of my Diamanda Galas to make a point.

It's not even *really* that loud. I guess I have good ears.

I thought I was punishing the guilty here by watching Muse videos moderately loudly on youtube during lunch, but they ended up liking it :(

BTW, the video for Knights of Cydonia is awesome, and that song has been stuck in my head for 5 days.
