In place of a melty cup thingamabober.......wisteriaFebruary 27 2002, 17:42:01 UTC
I used to work in a preschool, we used to use an electric griddle. But basically, we'd put wax paper on the griddle surface to keep the griddle clean, and either "paint" on that, or warm up the crayons that way.
Ooh....that sounds like fun! Mmm....I don't have a griddle anymore.....might see if I can find one at Goodwill! ~deb

Ya know......now that you mention it......I don't remember. It was a pretty beat up griddle used for art stuff.....so I don't remember if the wax paper melted on it. I don't think it did....but I'd hate to see you ruin a new griddle!
I know that for other melty crayon art, you can take two pieces of wax paper, put your crayon shavings, leaves, blossoms, ect, between and put a towel under and over it. Then use your iron......viola! Melty Art! (might wanna use a junky towel in case of drips!
