Following my whining on my other blog (oh lord, I am disturbed), I've decided tonight is going to be a relaxing knitting night. I can't handle the intense thought process needed to write (though I should). I've got two short stories to revise, a new one started, and novel group to write for.

My life is a full-time hobby.

I got reviewed last night (finally) in class. Not great, not horrible, totally fixable issues. But I've resolved to bitch slap J.K. Rowling, who has made it completely impossible to write anything involving children and magic without everyone making parallels to Harry Potter. Tonight I get my short story critiqued.... and I am nervous. I know it needs A LOT of work. It's not a normal piece of writing for me, so I have NO idea how successful it is, if at all. Le sigh. Another writer's meeting last night for the new public writer's group. An hour of people having the same discussion over and over- I thought people out grew that stuff at some point. Aha.

The muse returns, and I am significantly into my short story for class. It's a totally different story than I thought I'd tell. Instead of cutting edge, I decided to do entertaining. And a little humorous. Hopefully it goes over well.

At the very least, its a good practice for any young adult or childrens lit I decide to do in the future.
