Chicken crossing his path, 12 o'clock! She had made it inside the main building and was trotting around, currently seeking an exit back outside. What were once the clacking heels and determined strides of an adult woman were now the clacking talons and skittering strides of a tiny but no less determined fowl. One who was too focused on going where she was going and not paying attention to who was coming around the corner.
It was almost like crossing paths with a black cat, really.
But of courseihateplumbersAugust 11 2011, 04:39:38 UTC
There was a chicken in the hallway.
But Bowser is like 8 feet tall. There is absolutely no way in the world that he is going to see this chicken in the hallway as it came out from a corner directly in front of him. He is too fat burly fat to see down there.
His giant foot kicked the chicken as he stomped down the hall.
What resulted was a magnificent punt, a loud squawk and a puff of feathers flying into the air. Being as bold and brazen as she was no matter the form, Samus often forgot she wasn't as strong and hardy as she was normally. Her little chicken body smacked into the opposing hallway wall, and she slumped to the ground, slightly stunned.
It did not take her long to get back up on her feet and catch the number of the bus that hit her.
BOWSER.
Suddenly, the hallway was filled with angry clucking and hissing that could only be described as a string of fowl language.
METAL BIRD, MEET WHITE BIRD. Samus recognized him of course, but was uncertain of what to do, tempted to slink out of sight and forget the encounter ever happened. Out of all the small, bird-like creatures in the school, Skarmory would probably understand what she was going through the most right now. Too tiny to reach doorknobs, unable to speak, unable to type, and stuck with a monotonous diet of corn and seeds and whatever insects she could catch. On the bright side, she could fly, but...
However, she found herself unmoving, and quickly gave up the internal struggle. She uttered a soft, half-hearted cluck in greeting.
It was another bird. What kind of bird was it? If he knew at all, he'd understand everything ever, Samus. But the bird looked friendly, and it was greeting him. So have a friendly greeting back. Sqwaawwwk.
With greetings exchanged, she deliberated for a moment her next course of action. Samus wasn't thrilled being stuck in this form, but perhaps she could make the best use of it.
Alright. So be it. Suddenly the chicken stood straight and upright, trotting over to Skarmory in a near-march. She stood in front of him, poised and confident as if to gain his undivided attention.
[NO. NO NO NO NO CHASING CHICKENS. Samus broke out into a dash at being chased, fueled by sheer instinct alone. Until she realized she was running away and that was very untypical of her.
The chicken suddenly stopped, and with a little hop about-faced, looking quite miffed and poofy at Skull Kid. CEASE AND DESIST YOUR SHENANIGANS.]
Pit had been walking along campus in his underarmor, retiring from a session of practice with himself. Brand new school years always got him pumped, so he was diligent as ever in keeping himself sharp and ready for combat. On his way to the locker room, he chanced upon a... chicken?
How hilarious it would be to point out that Link had once told him about these domestic birds of Hylian origin, so he was aware of their existence, but here he thought this cucco was just a regular old chicken. It would shock him to know he was beholding one for the very first time at long last. But nope, just a chicken to his mind. It was enough to make him pause his short journey.
"A chicken?" he queried. "...What're you doing out here?"
Said chicken whirled around, tense, and seemed to know it was being addressed. By none other than...
Pit!
The bird eased almost immediately, stood at attention and clucked something that would be equivalent to a greeting. There were few people Samus didn't mind seeing, no matter what form she was in.
Was it just him, or was this chicken being friendly to him? She didn't run away or give him a fearful look or anything. Maybe if he just... bent down and held out his hand for her? What would she do?
She would trot right up to it. Not overly-eager, and not really looking for pets, but with an air that showed she was confident with the angel's presence.
She silently debated if she should explain why the random white chicken was being so friendly to him, or leave it a mystery to the ages.
