every year, i fall obsessively in love with some object which gradually turns into a collection. in the past years, i've collected:

  • garbage pail kids
  • galloshes
  • vintage bicyles

and this year, it's VINTAGE TELEPHONES! (which makes ebay very dangerous territory...)
    i desparately want a 1930's Bakelite telephone.

dude, you want a vintage phone? go take the one out of my garage. it's by the back door. no one ever uses it.

i'm serious. next time you come over take it.

i love the second one. :)

i have been daydreaming about one of those for my living room, next to my pink velvet chair. but every once in a while, i gaze upon all my vintage treasures and am gripped with this horrifying question: "does my apartment look like a grandma's house??" then i realize that the winged eddie vedder over my mantle helps save me from that fate... for now.

i know what you mean...but ronald's abtract paintings pretty much keep our place from resembling anything too granny-ish. we've got a pretty nice balance of old and new.

but you do make a good point to keep in mind.

you do know about the rule of three, no? anything you own three or more of is a collection. by that rule, i collect TOO many THINGS! :)

we have an old office push button and a princess dial...when the power outtage happenned, those phones worked fine because they weren't cordless and didn't need any electricity!

    i like alarm clocks!

in that case, i've got a gazillion collections too! lunchboxes, penguins? old soda pop bottles? i dunno what half of the stuff in my room (at my parents' house) is or where it came from, or what i was thinking when i started collecting the darn things. i think some of these collections go back to when i was 11 years old! oh geez......i think it is time for some heavy duty purging. i can't wait to move into ronald's apartment!
