okay, i know i've been poltically charged over this last...8 1/2 years... particularly the last coupe of days, but I just read this story about a guy who murdered an abortion doctor today", and without getting political, I just want to point out a few things

well religion is not a consistent axiomatic system, god kills and tells to kill, there are justified wars in the bible. the church as sanctuary thing is kind of catholic I think, or at least related to certain dogmatic traditions. I guess the recognition of holy ground would be basic, but perhaps the denomination of the doctor was not recognized as having any religious authority by the murderer.

i know i never actually prove anything, and of course, for all i know the guy thought he was god.

but if he was sane, then I think he pretty sufficiently invalidated his own point.

truth is, life's only sacred (to them) when it's unborn. as long as someone doesn't kill you in the womb, you're pretty much on your own. starving? sorry, not our problem. both of your parents hooked on drugs? we'll arrest them, and stick you in a house with 45 other orphans and 3 underpaid staffers and just enough funding to buy sandwich meat for all of them. Hell, if you're a different color, conservatives cheer when we bomb you, and love waterboarding you so much they'll fight to keep doing it even though, as an interrogation technique, it's been pretty substantially proven useless.

I think you are mostly preaching to the choir sweetie but I totally agree. Try not to let their hypocrisy get to you because I don't see it changing any time soon.

This is one of my biggest issues with republicans... they love the fetus but hate the child,e.g., their views on welfare and gays adopting.
