I totally agree with #1, that drives me crazy! You help, you write and search for that person, and no responce at all... That kills any willingness for ever.

#1....agreed in a big way. these days, people seem to think they don't need to be polite because it's the inet and no one can see them.

#2....i do hope you responded to that person in a manner that should insure they'll never show their 'face' to you again. ;)

So, because I needed some amusement this afternoon, I went to take a look at your graphics community to see what you were talking about:

Thanks for hotlinking there.

She just posted a link to your icon. She didn't embed the icon itself into her comment so, unless someone actually clicks on the link (and, frankly, I don't think there'll be a vast flood of people desperately clicking away on some random link at the end of a long list of others), it's not using up your bandwidth. I don't see the problem here.

Your reply to her was awfully condescending, though, with the sort of smarmy lecturing tone that's made particularly funny by the fact that you're chastising her for something that's not actually wrong.

wait.. it's in her own community?

Even if it's not a link but the image code embed, how is that hotlinking when it's still in her community?

Well then I read the definition for hotlinking wrong. Or something.

Well thanks for that. I guess.

Maybe you should know what "hotlinking" is before you go off chastising people. Posting a link is not "hotlinking."

Hey, just because I got confused on what hotlinking is doesn't mean people have to be assholes about it. Fuck. Get over it. Jesus.

I commented because of the invective nature of your rant, and because of your reply to the "offender" on your community. That commenter didn't deserve getting your rude comment, and neither do I, telling you you were wrong.

tags? mems? but it's so much quicker to write out a new post~!

OR SOMETHING. I used to be nice and answer those questions what felt like all the time. My patience evaporated long, long ago.
