We've noticed that a big part of the secrets submitted to this community involve icon or icontest communities, the way they are run, their mod's behavior and the likes. How about making it official? On this meme, you'll nominate, grade and review individual icon communities - not only to complain, but to find ways to make them better, so everyone has fun.

HOW TO

Nominate communities
+ Create a new thread with the community name (i.e. iconsecrets). This can be made by the community mod, any member, participant, or whoever has anything to say about a community. You can do it anonimously.

+ You can only nominate icontest communities (general icontests, elite icontests, lims, 20in20s), those for icon sharing, prize communities, or other places where people share, compete or talk about icons. YOU CANNOT NOMINATE PERSONAL ICON COMMUNITIES, unless it's your own (for proof, you can't nominate those anonimously)

+ The thread can be taken down by request of the community's mod, but he/she has to make a good cause. Asking to take down a thread just because you don't want to hear critics is kind of bad modding in itself, isn't it?

+ You can create more than one thread about different communities. But, please, try not to spam.

Comment
+ To every thread you answer, you'll leave:

I - An 1-10 overall grade in the title.

II - On the body of the comment, you'll EXPLAIN IT. No, you can't just leave a random number and that's it. Comments like those will be deleted. You can (and are encouraged to) break your grade down in categories, such as:
a) Creativity - What do you think of the themes used in the icontests? Are they repetitive? Are they creative? Do the mods try to come up with ways to increase participation?
b) Punctuality - Does the mod(s) post the contest on time? Are the applications answered in acceptable time? Do you think there's a need for it?
c) Fairness - How well are the applications judged? Is there any sort of favoritism (for person or style) in the comm? Is everyone treated equally?
d) Organization - Are the posts neat, readable, easy to find? The tags are organized?
e) Modding - What do you think of the mod(s)? Are they responsible? Are they helpful?
f) Fun - How much fun do you have in the community? Why do you participate in it? Will you keep participating?
Or any other criteria you find important or applicable. Feel free to skip any of the above or include others. Try and keep it organized so we know what you're talking about.

III - You're also encouraged to leave praise. Are you having a blast at a community? Do say, I'm sure the mods will love to hear it. You can also leave a general review, a testimonial, advice, complaint, or anything else you'd like to say to those who run that community.

+ Comment ANONYMOUSLY. You don't need to log out of your account, just click on "More Options" under the comment text area and check the Anonymous radio button. Or not, if you want to be recognized. The point of the anonimity here is to say something truthfully without being scared of being singled out, ostracized, or something of the sort.

+ This meme is for HELPFUL CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. Point out what's, why's, how's and how to be better. Be honest, but don't be cruel. Point out what's good too.

+ You can be as vague or as specific as you want, but keep in mind the general etiquette of good concrit (as in "I just like it better" not being a good excuse).

+ Be respectful. Remember that "good" and "bad" is mostly your opinion. Think about that before writing shit, try not to be biased. Think about how would you feel if it was directed to you when phrasing your critique.

+ Talk about the community. Talk about the mods as mods, and not as people you like (or don't.)

+ This post will remain open, so whenever you want to say something about a community, just come here and post to the thread.

+ Any questions or concers, leave on the comments thread.

Anonymity isn't an excuse for meanness, neither is criticism.
Pointless wank and personal attacks will be deleted by request of the victim. As a mod, I'll try to check every critique as well, and I'm not a very forgiving gal. This is a VERY delicate subject and some people are bound not to like it, so let's try to keep it civilized and not turn it into a wankfest okay? Thank you, and have fun.
