katiera reminded me of something I saw yesterday: Two mallard ducks and their lady-friend wandering around campus. Do ducks fly south for the winter? If so, these three are late!! What a strange place to see them, too. They must have wandered up from the river valley ( Read more... )

I consider some of the people I've met online to be my very closest and dearest friends. I talk about them all the time, and have experienced close to what you've described here. "How do you know her...well you've met her right? No? Oh. *disappointment*" Whatevah. So...I stab them in the face.

Maybe I should start stabbing people in the face, too. :)

i talk about lj people all the time. especially to my boyfriend, who now knows who i talk about when i say "oh, i stole this soap icecube idea from the canadian lj girl", or, "that nora girl from new york is dressing like alias for halloween too".. it's so easy to catch up with lj friends because when you check your list, it's like you're seeing how your friends are doing. i don't talk to my "real life" friends nearly as much as i do people that come online.

also, i met my boyfriend online, and we are the happiest couple i know. i also met one of my very best friends ever online, and he gave me a friendship that helped me thru very hard times, when he was the only person i really had to brighten my day.

Me neither. That's kind of what I was trying to say but never really did. :)

I'm glad for you and your boyfriend. :) It's happening more and more these days. :)

Many "internet friends" become my friends in real life. We have met to have lunch or go shopping together several times for those who are in Bangkok. For friends in different countries, when they went to Thailand, we all took them to different places. I just talked to one of my internet friends a week ago about when i go back to Bangkok next time, we'll ask other internet friends to go to "Pattaya" together. Friendship is valuable, no matter you get it in real life or from the cyber space.

oh, I TOTALLY see lj the same way. it's sad and wonderful, all at the same time! :D I'm always telling my family of my "friends on lj", and when nina and I get together, I say things like "hey, did you read what icyblue wrote about...?" or "check out my lj, I'm gonna write about something funny that happened at school tonight!" *laughs*

I always wonder what my parents/friends think about my "lj friends", as I met some pretty creepy guys that I met online, when I was 14/15, and I know how much that freaked everyone out. but I think it's awesome that I can really connect with people from all over the world, people who share the same interests and ideas. and who let me know that they care when people in my physical world aren't available to do so.

we love you too!!

Exactly.

I think LJ is different on the creepiness factor... it's a little more... transparent. You know?
