Life on the bus :-)

As I've said, I really don't mind disability. I do mind Port Authority though, and today was a day of rare form. I suppose I was lucky because all of the lifts worked properly but I could have do with a few less freaks and weirdos -- why are they all attracted to me ( Read more... )

now if the old guy meant it like "oh you shouldn't be riding the bus cuz the bus sucks ass" and "too bad access isn't better since it would be easier for you take if it didn't suck so much" that would've been cool

but yeah I have a feeling that he didn't mean it that way...damn old people

No, if he had said "you shouldn't be riding these buses, so let me buy you a van" that would've been cool!

i had to laugh a little about the drunk guy, sorry. i do understand your creeped-out feeling though. you mention Port Authority- where do you live? i'm now back in Michigan after a handful of years in NYC & i sometimes miss the wildlife on public transit, hence the knowing giggle. for some reason, when it rains it pours in the weirdo department. that said, i HATE people out in public who touch me(including my chair) without permission. i also have very long hair, so there are frequently those who want to "pet" me, and they usually do so from behind where i can't see them, very creepy indeed ( ... )

If I were you, I might have to carry a stun gun for occasions like that :-) there are some people alive out there simply because it's illegal to kill them :-) if it really is the rest of the world may be there should be a few less of them.

yeah, i think we as a society now have too many safety rules & laws that prevent Darwinism from happening. if only the socially inept had a "points" system where, after x number of incidents of complete ignorance, they were subjected to a reverse situation... can you imagine some big, burly guy who tries to manhandle somebody's chair one too many times suddenly being stuck in, say, a bathroom stall that he can't turn his chair around in? feel free to imagine varying degrees of compromising or embarrassing details here. though i'm not a Star Trek fan, i'd give anything for a transporter room or holodeck sometimes. as for there being a few less of them, they'll all get older & less physically able. in my cynical moments, i cheer the day.

so i didn't even know that you could email me privately through a comment on LJ. that's kind of cool. still learning about the cyberworld. i read your bio, but where are you from? i now actually have 1 little journal entry myself.

Isn't Darwinism a wonderful thing? If I were to ever run for president it would be my political platform! I'm from Pennsylvania, I have lived here all my life, but I'm hoping to move west soon.
