Ramen update

I think I have rediscovered Ramen again! Half a flavoring packet + a dash of sesame oil, soy sauce, & vinegar + several chopped green onions + several spoonfuls of homemade kimchi = awesome cheap lunch. Yeah there's a lot of sodium, but also a couple servings of vegetables in there ( Read more... )

Actually I like that you wrote about this, as that is a variation on Ramen that I haven't tried yet and it sounds awesome.

If you like Chuck Klosterman, I have a bunch of his other books, both of which (err, at least one of which) have some decent music commentary in them.

Add an egg in the ramen, too, like a kinda-not-really-poached egg! Mm now I want Korean ramen... :D

I thought about doing that, but I wasn't sure if I should actually poach it and then add it, or just drop it in and hope it didn't dissolve in the soup...what is the proper technique here? (I will be making a big batch to feed myself and others this weekend, probably, so it would be good to know!)

If you don't want it completely disintegrating, then crack it in after the noodles have cooked a bit, and be careful not to stir too much. The noodles will cushion the yolk so it doesn't fall apart before sinking. :)
