Canada is really big
I started writing the New Zealand post, but then it got so long that I ran out of steam. It's 7 pages so far with all the HTML coding, and I'm not even half-done yet. -_-;; So yeah, it'll come one day, when you least expect it, and it will be EPIC.

I failed to mention this to many of you.
I finally took some vacation time (my first vacation since I started working in Boston!) and just spent nine days in New Zealand, getting a whirlwind tour of Wellington, Fiordland, and Dunedin. Yesterday I played soccer with some guys in my lab. We were playing against our PI's wife's lab, which I guess makes them our lab-in-laws? It was interesting, being the only girl there. While I'm not good at soccer, I wasn't too terrible either, so they didn't complain. At least now I can say I've played soccer in the Harvard Medical School -
Becca is my hero.
Becca came with me to the review session/open house for my EMT practical on Friday, and despite getting C-collared, longboarded, KED'd, splinted, and traction splinted, still agreed to come with me this morning to the Massachusetts EMT practical exam as my "patient" and let me do it all again ( Read more... ) -

My EMT class is done! I passed the final practical exam last weekend with flying colors, and the final written exam tonight; there is a shiny certificate in my backpack that says I passed the course; and I am registered to take the Massachusetts practical exam on September 20: I am on my way to becoming a Massachusetts EMT ( Read more... ) -

I got a pocket, got a pocketful of sunshine
Spring in Boston is great. I love the brilliant sunshine and flawlessly clear blue sky, the pretty little crocuses peeping out of the ground in unexpected corners, and all the families out and about with small children and excited dogs. Lucky as I am, I don't even have allergies, so I can just revel in Daylight Savings Time and enjoy the extra ( Read more... ) -

I'm pretty sure one of the valets that works in my building was laughing at my amazing blue and be-daisy'd kids helmet, but I feel like that's totally fair, so! This morning has started out well, hopefully this will continue. -
