I forgot to flesh out this sentence- "One thing never explained in the game is why Glenn can release the Masamune's potential to damage Magus as early as the Castle, as well as the full potential at Cyrus's grave, YET CYRUS CANNOT THROUGHOUT HIS OWNERSHIP OF THE MASAMUNE DURING HIS KNIGHTHOOD ( ... )

Can't thank you enough for taking all the time and thought to write this out. It's always captivating to review an old favorite in a new light, and a lot of your observations are nothing short of insightful--gives me a whole new appreciation for Frog and Robo's characters, for one. Next time I play this game I'll definitely be looking at everything from a different angle.

And you ended it on the most (tearfully) awesome note ever, I have to agree. Magus has to be my favorite anti-hero--if you can call him that.

(At the very least, reading this has been one of the best ways to spend a long day at work I've ever had.)

Thanks for writing this! I read through it after the links circulated around my friends list. It was a nice revisitation of a good old game and it's nice to see it tackled from a more philosophical perspective.
