Strikes me as slightly odd that hardly any of my lj friends have made any reference to the fact that we now have a new prime minister (after that brief worrying gap inbetween when presumably Prezza was in charge). Perhaps this is because we are all so bored of Brown before he's even started in the new job ( Read more... )

I'm not a one for politics. I take the view that Billy Connolly did - Don't vote, it just encourages them

I left the country just prior to Brown's accession purely so I can be one of those "Yeah, I lived in Britain just during the Blair years" kind of people...

I think beardedwonder is still in Paris, so he can't comment on this. As for myself, the internet is down at my place and I have to use public computers so I don't really want to update my journal at the moment.

The changeover felt like the change from Thatcher to Major. A charismatic leader followed by a man who radiates the excitement of a chartered accountant. I don't know enough of British politics to claim that there might be pattern but interesting nonetheless.
