Is it just me, or do other people have the perception that the "Free Minds '09" alternative Objectivism conference is being run in a somewhat flaky manner? I certainly sympathize with the difficulties of putting together a conference at what is essentially the last minute. However, some of what is being done seems a bit questionable. The list of

Actually, given the circumstances I've been very impressed with how they're handling things. It doesn't bother me that the roster changes.

Well, and then there was the whole sending out rejection emails to people who hadn't actually proposed to give a talk. That certainly deserves some sort of thumbs up.

If your measurement is perfection, all will fail.

If your idea of just this side of perfection is sending rejection notices to people who didn't actually submit abstracts, then you are fail.
