I think the bug count is somewhere around 30k by now. I spend 8-10 hours everyday driving around the lower valley, wishing i could speak spanish while cursing in german, weighing/eating cherries, inspecting leaves, taking "chute" samples, getting a great farmer's tan, and (of course) counting bugs/eggs under a microscope. i'm at the "happiest place on earth" with my family. it's not, but that's ok. i'll enjoy the flight back and the crap i'll take at my job for missing days. at least i got a sweet movie of amy freaking out on a rocking ferris wheel.

this morning i woke up at 3:30 and it felt like i had eaten a whole, live squirrel. It was actually just a bad pork chop and i had food poisoning. This was supposed to be my first day at work, so that's not cool. My poor brother got it much worse; i'm sorry for him. At least i feel pretty good now. We'll see if i can sleep ( Read more... )

Each homecoming is only slightly less bitter-sweet than home itself. I get let down, but not more than is to be expected. I don't get very happy for the big things anymore. The freak thunderstorms that roll in over my dad's house on the river are nice. The Vines are pretty cool. Some of the people in yakima rock. School is a bowl full of old ( Read more... )
