[Zhaneel has been in Sabatier for several days now, getting the lay of the land and getting the locals used to her presence. Although the word had gone out about several of the Called being non-human, there was still an adjustment period of sorts when they were meeting for the first time.

Zhaneel is trekking down the dusty street when the call comes over the communicator, the voice both decidedly young and certainly fearful.

She listens to the interchange between Hakkai and Violet before her own soft voice speaks up.]

I do not know the world you come from, kitling, but .. if you had powers of any kind there, you should be warned that they will no longer work..

[Her voice is consoling and there is an unmistakable apologetic tone to it.]

A good many of us found this out the hard way .. We have been told they may be regained, although there is something about this place and our natural magics that do not precisely coincide with one another... Your abilities will not be at their full power even if you get them back.

I don't have any powers. [This response comes as an instinct, more than anything. Since she was little, Violet was always taught to hide her powers, and this response isn't exactly something she's been trained to turn off.

Still, she takes in the information and takes a moment to try and become invisible - nothing. She tries to form a quick force field around her communicator and...nothing! This is bad.

As much as Violet longs to be normal, being powerless in a place like this is not a good thing.]

[Zhaneel can't have any idea about the world or reasoning behind Violet's response; nor can she possibly know that the girl was actually a superhero before coming to Vertiline. Though there are those there that this is the exact instance of, the gryphon is careful not to presume anything about anyone.
