my experience was around $90/week for preschool...in daycares i didn't really like...but at the time it seemed pretty standard...costs were also $90/week for all day summer day camp programs in topeka...here it's $55 average per week for a 1/2 day program - 8am -11am or 1pm to 4pm usually.

john's summer program this summer was 30.75/day...high dollar in my opinion - $630/month...but at the same time you get what you pay for - john LOVED this program and they did offer 2 slumber parties at no additional charge - that was so nice :)

not sure that's much help...but it's what i know :)

that helps a lot, actually. I think I can ask for $60 for Riker and Josie combined, but not sure for D and looks like Garth as a soon to be 16 year old is either too old to need sitting or gets to be the one in charge. Just not sure I want him to have to be responsible when we will be nearly two hours away.

what are the circumstances of the sitting?
john is 11 and stays home by himself as much as 4 hours at a stretch, but usually not unless we don't have much other option...usually it's 2 hours max...but i think he's too young to watch other kids even though i think in ks. 12 is the legal age to start babysitting - nuts! :)

i'm sure garth would probably do a great job - but it is a lot of responsibility depending on the situation...you might just get his opinion on it though...whether he's comfortable or not...
