Two weeks ago I did a Saturday of overtime, last weekend was the Highland games. This weekend I planned to take it a little easy. ( Our Weekend Here ) -

I am off to work on the sound crew for the San Diego Highland Games. We rent a big truck and a lot of sound gear. We will spend all day setting up 2 stages and maybe a remote system or two for the Highland dancing, bagpipe competitions, sheep dog trials, and the athletics ( Read more... ) -

Sunday at Baycon
I started the day at the Christian service. It was a combined Catholic Episcopalian service. There was a Priest from each church jointly running the service. It worked out fairly well. The one thing that was odd for me was the Lord's Supper. The Episcopalian one did not use unleavened bread. I was not sure if I could take the Catholic Communion, so ( Read more... ) -
Saturday at Baycon
In the morning I went to con-ops to see if my badge was ready. Not yet. It was 9am. Still not there by 10, so I went to the Richard Hescox panel. I have always been a fan of his art. Afterwords back to con-ops and no badge. Waited around a bit and still no badge. Got permission to see the art show badge-less, and wondered around there for a while ( Read more... ) -

This Weekend of May 2007
Started the weekend with a much needed eye exam. We have had other medical needs recently, so have been putting getting the eye exam. I have been have trouble reading smaller text lately, including on the web. (Why do people make webpages with such small text!!) I have been using larger font in Firefox, which messes up some webpages, and a ( Read more... ) -

I may have answered a question wrong, I usually only get southern in these things. I was born in North Carolina, but have been in Southern California since I was six.

Yesterday I was listening to "A Way With Words" on our local PBS station. A caller called and wanted to know if there was a word for the process of writing new lyrics for songs.
