Just spent a wonderfully unproductive hour watching the soaps with Miss Leland, before she had her therapy session with Bruce. I'd forgotten how lovely it was just to have a sit-down; things get too busy around here, sometimes, and it's too easy to lose yourself in work. Easy and unhealthy ( Read more... )

Soap operas are also good for wild conspiracy theories about why the characters are acting so absurd. I love it.

Did Aaron #1 find out that Rebecca was cheating on him with the second Aaron?

Oh, yes. He had to have found out. Smart lad like him? He would've found out in a tick.

And that's why he's having at it with Aaron #2, to get back at Becca, who I suspect is actually an alien.

Oh! I was so hoping that Christian and Robert would become friends again. I do miss their silly hi-jinks.

Ever since Robert got kidnapped by aliens, things just haven't been the same.

Oh, yes. But what about Christian's morally ambiguous twin?

Oh my god! It's one big triangle. See, if I were Maggie, I'd just take them both.

Then again, they both have flaws and strengths. I think Christian's twin would be a better choice for her emotionally. That and sometimes Aaron can be a bastard to her, even though he loves her.

Oh oh! But I really love Michael and Christopher. They're hilarious. Especially when Michael is yelling at poor Chris. They're like a grumpy old couple. Hee!

Poor Chris. He's a nice chap, but he doesn't know how to choose his blokes.

They provide insight into the human condition? And are a guilty pleasure?

It seems to me that the problems those characters face are... a bit exaggerated to provide any real insight.

I think we've all been trapped in a love triangle with our adoptive sister and the shadowy Greek man running the town's paper factory. It's a very common problem.
