Ficlet - The Red Book

I know it's been forever since I last posted, I've started a new job, working at a small museum, organising the collections and helping with exhibitions - I haven't worked since having the kids and it feels very exciting! Here's a short LOTR fic I wrote a while ago and have been meaning to post for a while. I hope you like it!

Wow. I don't think I've ever, ever seen a story that even dreamed of this theme, of envisioning the Red Book this way. This is beautiful and terrifying and all-embracing. And that Frodo!Apparition - again, after years of reading fic, that scene feels like fresh, untrodden ground. Marvelous.

I'm glad it felt original - I do like to come at things from a new angle, if I can. Thank you so much for your very kind comments. x

This feels fresh to me too - intriguing that Elanor might find the Red Book more repellent than cherished. Lovely to see more fic from you!

This is such a beautifully written fic it makes me weep, even on second reading. How sad that Elanor would feel owning the Red Book a burden. But she is her father's daughter, and has his courage and strength and constancy, and can do what needs to be done, and she will find peace at the end.
