Day 3 of a 30-day work marathon (evenings and weekends included). I'm already tired. Not a good sign. Of course I'm now on hour 14 of the workday with a couple more to go.

One thing is clear: I need more tea.

We went to a friend's steampunk-themed wedding last weekend. It was exactly the sort of uber-geek wedding that was most appropriate for these particular friends. The majority of the guests dressed up in steampunk garb, most notably the bride (which makes sense as she's in charge of a regional steampunk convention). Today I feel rather at peace with the world and with myself. It's not due to any changes at work -- certainly there have been few if any improvements there as of late. I wrote about these in one of my tea groups. Last week I found a set of Tang Dynasty style tea cups in Richmond. The style predates tea cups as such, and are more like tiny shallow bowls. They allow the tea to slowly ebb into your mouth, and present a puddle of tea under your nose. The effect is more aroma and an expression of subtle tastes ( Read more... )
