[When the video clicks on, viewers see a blonde man in a white labcoat with welding goggles on his head. Dr. Horrible lets out an evil laugh that actually sounds sort of menacing instead of flat-out ridiculous. It's obvious he's been practicing. After adjusting his goggles, he begins to speak.]

Well, as you can see, I finally got a webcam up and ( Read more... )

Yeah, it's a shame I was never able to get them running properly. I was actually able to steal some gold bars from the bank with the transmatter ray, but the molecules sort of shifted during the event. It's still a success in my book, through.

Oh, ha ha, very funny. It was an accident, it shouldn't have even been in the room.

The thing about cats is that they're always exactly where they're not supposed to be.

Unfortunately, that's not something you learn until after they've gone ahead and done that.

Something tells me you and my mechanic would have some very interesting conversations.

And by interesting I mean incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't speak Machinese.

"Machinese"? I've never heard it put quite like that, but I guess it's pretty appropriate.

Who is your mechanic, anyway?

*a slow clap is heard* Wow, that's a much better laugh there, oh horrible one.

So, I have a question...why do we have to email you? Why can't we ask you questions right here on your blog? I mean, it has a reply function obviously. Aren't you just making things a little more complicated than they need to be?

Also, I'd suggest finding some of the other 'brains' in this place...I know we have a few out there who are pretty smart...maybe they could help you with a teleporting thing.

Why, thank you. I do try.

That's just... how I've always done it. I guess I'm not used to working with this sort of networking system. Mine back home was strictly video without any text. But when you put it like that, yeah, it sounds a lot simpler.

You've been here longer than me. Anyone in particular come to mind?

Well, whatever works I guess.

Yeah, I do actually, a few of the brains here wanted to study some crabs awhile back and I was part of the team to act as protection for'em. MacGuyver seemed to know a lot...and a guy who just called himself The Doctor was pretty handy too.

I...think there was some guy named Bill there too...though we the groups got separated so I didn't really spend much time with him. There's a lot of people on the networks I haven't talked to though so maybe you should just put up an ad or something?

Know anythin' 'bout holography or imaging suites?

Or, even better, Trace Compression Block engines?

Now, see, I ain't been able to find any workin' form of a transmatter ray...still, if you got the ideas for one, I got a few ideas that might help in makin' it...

Holography? As in holograms? I know a few people who specialize in it, but I've never really used them. I've always focused more on ray gun technology.

I haven't heard of those kinds of engines before. What do they power?

I haven't drawn up anything substantial yet, but yeah, if I ever start building another one again, I'd like to hear your suggestions.

That'd be holograms, yeah. I'm tryin' to figure a way to make a scanner up for one...think it'd help with the doctorin' of a lot of people if we can get a good idea of what's goin' on inside 'em. Kinda like your standard MRI, I guess.

They're used in spacecraft, most like Aught Three Firefly or the like. Might be a bit before your time...

If anythin', I might be able to find or make ya a power supply of some kind. Don't got much to run off, but I'm startin' to get a feel for the tech 'round here.

Huh... Are you aiming for something that would produce a virtual readout of the patient's condition? Like instead of an X-ray or something, you'd actually be able to see the break in the bone in the hologram?

Firefly...? So you're the mechanic for that ship that Captain Hammer look-alike Reynolds guy mentioned!

If you ever come across anything you'd be willing to give up, I'd be really appreciative.
