It's beautiful weather here - only a little below freezing with tons of snow which couldn't be more perfect. It's so invigorating walking around. So much of Saskatoon is so beautiful, which came flooding back to me even on the airplane out the window. The bridges, the partially frozen river, the frosted trees, the huge skyline... For the second weekend in a row, I was working at a club that was primarily black clientele and I was the sole cracker on stage. It was in San Antonio (4.5 hours south) at a place called The Studio (insert treble clef on the logo for "S"). Last weekend was a beating. I had gigs or paid rehearsals on Friday night, Saturday morning/afternoon/evening and Sunday morning/evening, in addition to gigs the previous Mon & Wed nights plus my usual choir day job. It was a bit much, but I saved some money at least ( Read more... )

Know the difference between “campus police” and “police.”
Police carry guns. Campus police carry flashlights and sometimes water bottles. If the police show up, immediately declare yourself the “sober white one at the party” and you’re just there for Andy’s birthday.
