Dune by Frank Herbert, first sci-fi book to sell over 1 million copies, recognized as the father of star wars and star trek, will take you more than a flight to read it though

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card.
ALSO, Bruce Campbell has a few books out, if you haven't heard and if that is, in fact, him you're using as your LJ userpic. "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor" and "Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way," an autobiography and a fake autobiography, respectively. I haven't actually read either, but they're supposed to be good.

If Chins Could Kill was fantastic. Make love the Bruce Campbell way I heard was not as good.

Thank you all, i think I am going to get the "Night Trilogy" by Elie Weisel.

The Left Behind series is really good, if you like reading about the apoclypse.
