As Socrates so philosophically said emmarytz February 24 2005, 02:28:05 UTC
Nothing's good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Okay, so it was Hamlet. Or Shakespeare. It'll always be a line from R&GAD for me. -em

Speaking of which. iheartleaven February 24 2005, 09:25:30 UTC
A more positive person than myself would point out that Life in a box is better than no life at all. You'd have a chance at least - you could lie there thinking, well, at least I'm not dead.

Who mentioned witches? emmarytz February 24 2005, 18:17:22 UTC
Frankly, I think Rosencrantz is insane when he delivers that line. If I asked you right now, would you rather be buried alive in a box or buried dead in a box, which would you choose? Naturally you'd choose to be dead. Choosing to be trapped in a box, waiting desperately for someone to come along and knock, saying "Hey you, what's your name? Come on out of there" is just crazy-talk. Oh, maybe the assumption is that one isn't buried, given that the whole thing takes place in a mausoleum but I think you'd do very well to leave well enough alone. -em

I was really thinking of it more metaphorically. Otherwise, I agree.
