Strange Recommendations Post...

I was on the phone with my Mommy today and she was distressed about Christmas. Our finances are painfully tight this year (without going into too many details, lets just say that parents have been borrowing from me, and I don't exactly have much money to my name). If you haven't read it yet, I heartily recommend The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Especially being a Classics major. It is awesome.

You'd probably like the Time Traveller's Wife.

I'd also ask for handmade stuff, or accessories like scarves,hats, handwarmers or exciting socks. These things are cheap, but there's a lot of variety and room for surprise. You could also point her at http://sockdreams.com/ for this.

Aw, but I already got you your present, and it's all I can think about when I think "what would I get mimsy?"

I'd probably make sure you had enough warm, adorable scarves/socks/and mittens. Especially the mittens, maybe with pins or hooks to attach them to your coat ;)

And anything terribly cute enough. Or strange.

Books: More Information Than You Require, by John Hodgman.

Clothing: a fuzzy winter hat with earflaps.

Food: chocolate.

Useful: good pens.
