So, been putting this off quite long enough, and I haven't had much luck searching on my own, so it looks best to try over here instead.

I'm looking for employment. I'm an enchanter, which comes in handy for, well, most things, though I'd rather not have anything to do with preparing food. Never seem to do well with that. I'm quite well educated

Do you have any experience with potions, or at least handling magical objects and substances?

Yes, I've got quite some experience handling all of those, even the more dangerous substances.

Well, I don't know if you wanted to use your skills for a job revolving around magic or not, but I do own a potions shop in the City, which also stocks potions ingredients, tools, and various artifacts. It's... a possibility, at least, and I am hiring.

Not to mention that I'm always interested in magic from different worlds, as well.

I'd definitely prefer a job involving magic! It's what I'm used to, after all, though I wouldn't have minded trying something else. Needs must, and all that. I'm interested, what would the job be exactly?

As am I. I wouldn't mind discussing it with you, job or not.

Oh, lovely! Have you got an idea yet as to the pay?

I've heard tell of a magical gate connecting the City proper to the shore, for easier accessibility and such. It put me to mind of the Gate Gabriel's staff uses to travel properly to and from other worlds. Perhaps if we examined it, we'd get some idea of the way dimensional and worldly magic works in this place.

Not yet, but I'll be helping out at a magic shop, it seems. Hopefully it'll be enough to make a difference.

I did nothing of the sort. I think it objected to my trying to find books that were actually useful.

It might be because I was the slightest bit too determined to make it give me the books I was looking for.
