Henry Cavill, Superman and Stuff

Zach Snyder and co have cast their Superman for the upcoming Man of Steel movie and it's the gorgeous Henry Cavill. My thought process ran something like this when I heard of the casting 1) He's British 2) So gorgeous 3) And he's British 4) So damn gorgeous 5) Seriously he's British 6) Batman and Spiderman are also British. Damn we're taking over

I went with Olivia Wilde, although my personal favourite would be Zoe Saldana. Let's really throw out the rulebook on the fanboyz & the mythos and give them a British Superman and a Black Lois Lane.

Zoe Saldana is a lot of people's favourite choice. I've seen her name all over the place. The only reason I didn't mention it in the poll was because I was including the actresses mentioned most by the media. But, yeah I could see her in the role. She's very sassy and confident and funny in her interviews so definitely.

omg hell yeah. But I think she's gonna be tied in Avatar sequels forever.

I picked Rashida Jones. Half-black anyway! Other than Zooey, she's the only other one I like. Well, McAdams is okay... but I dunno...

To be honest, I never really liked the character of Lois Lane before AM got it and ran with it. ;-) So I'm kind of ambivalent towards whoever gets it. Chloe Sullivan kicked ass and took names as far as playing Lois was concerned!!!

No way! I love the thought of Rachel McAdams and she's been my favourite choice since I heard the first murmurings of MoS. I think she'd be rather brilliant in the role. Not sure about Gabrielle or Grace but as I said to Dee, I could see Zoe as Lois. Also, Maggie Q for me. She's committed to Nikita and not someone that I think would be considered but I think she would be brilliant. She's pretty kick-ass and adorable in real life so it wouldn't be a stretch for her to play Lois.

I love Emma Stone. LOVE. So I'm normally 'hell yeah' to any casting suggestion with her but I think she would have looked too young for the role. Lois Lane is already established at the DP when CK enters the picture and I want to see someone who would look the part in that regard.

For some reason, I don't like Gabrielle Union in every single role that she's played; she just comes across as needlessly bitchy!

And yes, a bit too old for Lois against Henry Cavill, I'm afraid.

Yeah, Union's never been a favourite of mine either. I've never seen her in something that's made me go 'wow'. Cavill's 28 but looks older so I think they could go with an older actress as long as she looks around the same age as him. I bet you you they go with someone younger though because that's how Hollywood works :(

I'm not particularly enamored with any of the actresses mentioned, but my least favorite is Jessica Biel. I feel like her presence in a film automatically lowers it to "Straight to DVD" quality.

Yeah, Jessica and Olivia are my least favourite choices. Maybe they'll go for a complete unknown and surprise us.

I hope they pull a Hugh Jackman when they casted Wolverine and get an unknown for Lois Lane. I don't really care for any of the women that have been connected. Out of that list I guess I could be indifferent to Rachel McAdams. Still..meh could be worse

I'm surprised that so many of you guys are blah to Rachel. I thought she was a popular choice. Shows how much I know :p

An unknown would be good as long as they get a good actress. Margot Kidder wasn't exactly a household name when she was cast. I watched some screentests of them casting Lois for the Donner movies and she was by far the best one who tried out IMO.

It's not so much blah over Rachel. I think out of the names mentioned she's the better actress. I just feel after Smallville I want a completely clean slate over who's going to play Lois. I suppose when it comes down to it as a fellow Chloiser it's a bit personal. I want to be "reintroduced" to who Lois Lane is. I want to root for her character again without having any outside distractions over the actress.

While Rachel is a great actress, I'll always associate her love partner on screen with Allie and Noah. There's a reason why Leonardo DiCaprio never tried to top doing another epic love story after Titanic.

I've only seen Zooey in 500 Days of Summer and I think she did an okay job with that but I wasn't blown away at all. Wilde and Biel are really random choices as far as I'm concerned. It seems they're going with anyone who's dar haired because they're traumatised by Bosworth.

After so long with SV, I'm just glad to be excited about Lois again. I hope that if they go with anyone from the ones that are being talked about most, it's either Rachel or Rashida. The rest do nothing for me.
